Event Information – FAQ’s
Q: WHERE AND WHEN IS THE EVENT TAKING PLACE ?
A: The City of Inverness Highland Games will be held in Bught Park, Inverness, IV3 5SR on Saturday 16th July 2022. Gates will open to the public at 11am.
Q: WHAT TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE?
A: General Admission Adult and Concession and High Life Highland Member Discount Adult and Concession tickets apply to this event. Children under 2 years old are admitted free of charge and do not require a ticket. All children under the age of 16 are to be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 and be in posession of a ticket. All tickets are subject to availabilty.
Q: WHERE CAN I BUY TICKETS?
A: Tickets will be available to buy via invernesshighlandgames.com from Friday 17th June 2022.
Tickets can also be purchased at the entry gate on the day of the event, subject to availability, we therefore advise purhcasing online in advance of the event to avoid disapppiointment or delay on entry.
Please only buy tickets through official ticketing agencies.
Q: I HAVE HIGH LIFE HIGHLAND MEMBER DISCOUNT TICKETS - DO I NEED TO TAKE MY HIGH LIFE CARD?
A: Yes. All High Life Highland Member Discount Adult and Concession tickets required to be accompanied by a valid High Life Highland Memebership card to admit entry to the event, this will be asked for at the gate.
Q: WHAT TIMES DO GATES OPEN?
A: Gates open to competitors at 10:30am and to the general public at 11am.
Q: WHERE CAN I PARK?
Car Parks – There is no parking on site, however, local public parking is available, which is close and within walking distance to Bught Park. Charges may apply. The closest public car park to Bught Park are the Highland Council Head Quarters, Inverness Cathedral and Eden Court Car Parks and the new Torvean Car Park. Limited Car Parking is available for competitors at the event only. There will be a charge for usage on the day.
Disabled parking is available on site to Blue Badge scheme holders only. The disabled car park is only able to accept standard car sizes and we are unable to accept any vehicles larger than a standard car due to ground conditions.
Q: CAN I PARK MY CAMPERVAN/MOTORHOME AT THE EVENT?
A: No, there are no parking facilities for live-in vehicles at the event. If travelling to the event with a live-in vehicle, a registered caravan site should be pre-arranged and overnight parking guidance adhered to at all times.
Q: WHAT ARE THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT OPTIONS ?
A: The nearest train station is Inverness Station, Academy Street, Inverness, IV2 3PY
The nearest bus station is Inverness Bus Station, Margaret Street, Inverness, IV1 1LT
Q: ARE WE ALLOWED TO BRING FOOD & DRINK?
A: Full catering and bar facilities are available at the event. We operate a challenge 25 policy at our licensed bar. In accordance with licencing and our T&C’s, food and unopened bottles/cans are allowed in to the event, however NO GLASS is permitted on the premises. Refillable water bottles must enter the event empty and can be filled at dedicated water stations. Guests are responsible for the security of all personal belongings.
Q: WILL THERE BE TOILETS AVAILABLE?
A: Yes, there will be toilets and accessible toilets available in the park.
Q: WILL THERE BE A CASH MACHINE AT THE EVENT?

Q: WILL THE EVENT STILL GO AHEAD IF THE WEATHER IS WET?
A: Yes. The Event is outdoors and you are strongly advised to bring appropriate clothing and footwear to protect against potential inclement weather. The event, or areas within the event, will only be cancelled and/or withdrawn if the weather is deemed to be too dangerous.

Q: AM I ALLOWED TO TAKE MY DOG TO THE GAMES?
A: Yes, if kept on a lead at all times and any mess is cleaned up responsibly.
Q: ARE PLUS ONE CARDS ACCEPTED?
A: Yes. The 2022 City of Inverness Highland Games will be eligible for the Highland Plus One card.
Please note that roads and car parks in and around Inverness are expected to be busy on the day of the event. You should allow plenty of time to travel. The organisers or their partners cannot be held responsible for delays getting to or from the venue. Please follow signs and instructions from Police and safety stewards.
