| Solo Piping Competitions |
The solo piping competitions will be held on Saturday 18 July 2009 and will be run again this year by Inverness Piping Society. Some general information for competitors is as follows:
Competitors can gain entry to the games field from 10:30 am onwards. An entrance fee to the games field of £3 (if wearing a kilt), otherwise £7 will be charged. No additional entrance fee for entering the solo piping competitions will apply.
Competitors must register their entry at the Solo Piping Admin tent between 11:00 am and 11:20 am. A “draw” to determine “order of play” will take place by 11:30 am.
Both Junior and Senior events will commence after “the draw” - as soon after 11:30 am as possible.
Competitors also competing in events other than the solo piping, should on the day inform one of the piping stewards, so that flexibility in the order of play can be exercised where this is possible.
Trophies for the Overall Winners (Junior & Senior), will be awarded, based on the aggregate score from the MSR and Piobaireachd competitions. In the event of a tie, the Piobaireachd result will take precedence. The Overall Junior and Senior Winners will be expected to play a 3/4, 4/4 or 6/8 March of their own choice in front of the main games stand after being presented with their trophies.
Overall Junior Winner will receive “The Donnie Manson Memorial Trophy”
Overall Senior Winner will receive “The Waterside Hotel (Inverness) Trophy"
